Your Highness

I stayed up super late last night slaving away on my graphic design 2 (GD2- for us New Schoolers) therefore beat today after class but I decided to enjoy the day and take myself to a movie. I've been wanting to see Limitless and The Adjustment Bureau but wasn't in the mood for a thriller or I might have seen my man Jakey G in Source Code. Instead I saw Your Highness because I needed to laugh.

I wasn't sold at first but my handy Fandango app had reviews that called the movie "like Princess Bride but with a lot of cussing" "beware of multiple of f bombs and sex jokes" "not for everyone - make sure you like crude humor" - you get the picture. It sounded just what the movie doctor order. Those reviewers called it as is. I didn't laugh at some of the more obvious jokes but it delivered. It's goofy, campy, almost annoying but that's because its characters are playing up to their roles. I also got to see all of the movie trailers that are getting me pumped up for upcoming movies.

The trailer for your enjoyment:

My Heart's Desire

This entire week I've been craving a slice (or four) of pizza and a nice glass of wine. It's actually kind of hard to find in the city that has everything. I finally figured out how to have my heart's desire:

A nice bottle of wine from the neighborhood liquor store and delivery from Gotham Pizza. Perfection.

I'm Turning Into a Typography Nerd

Because I'm noticing certain typefaces EVERYWHERE and I get really excited when I find a typeface I've seen before.

For example:

I finished reading The Glass Books of The Dream Eaters: Volume One a week or so ago and I was really excited when I figured out that the chapter title font is Trinigan.

My level of excitement about this discovery is commiserate with my typography nerdiness :). I love it.

I'm also really excited about finding this font because I'm creating a booklet based off the aforementioned novel and my project involves using typography creatively and expressively to invoke a certain playfulness and artistic rendering.

I Am Dying . . .

for warm weather.

SERIOUSLY.

I wish I had enough disposable income to take off for a couple of days to some sun. I would kill for a warm beach day. I'll just have to go by my photos. . . .
